Over the years we have made submissions on behalf of the horse riding community to Councils, and a variety of government agencies, and we've encouraged the wider equestrian community to do so too.
This is the way to be heard by Council and government agencies to ensure that we are included in recreation plans. It can be boring, and frustrating, but it is extremely necessary.
Many submissions are now made online, and are less formal than when we first started over a decade ago (thankfully).
Talk doesn't count.
Making comments on Facebook, or to your friends won't do anything,
But making the effort to actively lobby, and promote horse riding, will make sure we all keep riding.
And it often only takes a few minutes that you might otherwise waste moaning and not making a difference!
